He has served on various hospital committees including the Board of Trustees, Director of Robotic and Minimally Invasive surgery, and was previously the Chief of Staff at Providence St. Joseph Hospital.
Dr. Kar received his medical degree from Grant Medical College at University of Bombay in Bombay, India, then completed his general surgery internship and subsequent residency in urology at the Medical College of Ohio.
What motivates your desire to give back?
I am blessed with what has been given to me and my family. I want to reciprocate that to other families.
Why are you supporting the medical center? What motivates your philanthropy?
It’s one of the only nonprofit hospitals in the community that treats all patients with compassion. I also appreciate the outreach programs that help reach the underserved and underprivileged.
Why did you agree to join the foundation board?
I wanted to make a difference and give back to the community that has blessed me with so much.
