New Bridges for Newborns
St. Joseph Hospital received a 3-year grant from the Children and Families Commission of Orange County to support our participation in the countywide Bridges Maternal Child Health Network.
This grant helped fund our efforts to ensure that children are born healthy and have full access to comprehensive health services, including dental care. Through this program, we provide families with education, screening, and linkage to services, including referrals for home visitation and health access services by public health nurses and other professional staff. More mothers will receive early prenatal care and support for breastfeeding. This grant will also ensure that any child-development concerns are identified and addressed early. More children will be adequately immunized, and more children will have a regular and appropriate place for health care.
