Impacting Lives, Together
Longtime partners ensure a legacy for future generations
Marge Cargo, a Yorba Linda resident, has been dedicated to her community for many years. She has supported Providence St. Joseph Hospital for nearly 15 years.
Throughout her philanthropic years, Marge had a lifetime partner right by her side, George Dunbar, who was also a longtime supporter of Providence St. Joseph. In the final years of his life, George considered how he could continue to make an impact on the hospital he cared so deeply for before his passing in 2019. With much consideration, George named Providence St. Joseph Hospital as the beneficiary of his individual retirement account (IRA). This charitable act provided the hospital with a gift of over $800,000 to advance patient care for future generations.
George’s generosity inspired Marge to follow in his charitable footsteps by also naming the hospital as a recipient of her IRA account. In recognition for their support, George and Marge are both honored as new members of the Sister Frances Dunn Legacy Society.
There are many ways to create an everlasting impact at Providence St. Joseph Hospital, including a beneficiary designation gift — of retirement assets or a life insurance policy. The groundwork built by these gifts helps ensure that the hospital can continue to offer a level of care that supports the health and dignity of those we serve for years to come.
In this last year, we are thankful for those members of our Foundation Board of Directors that have made generous gifts in this way, including Sandi and Bob Baldwin, Tammy and John Dal Poggetto, and Tanja and John Cebula.
