We are impacting lives in Orange County everyday with the generous support of donors.

“Added in January 2019, this innovative technology increases treatment options and gives thousands of patients the best possible chance of becoming free of cancer.”
Faster, More Powerful Cancer Treatment
The Varian TrueBeam® Radiotherapy Linear Accelerator was installed and became fully operational at The Center for Cancer Prevention and Treatment at St. Joseph Hospital in January 2019. This addition to our Center, increases treatment options and gives thousands of patients the best possible chance of becoming free of cancer.
This innovative technology also increases our ability to precisely locate and image tumors, as well as provide radiation treatment that is more accurately focused with fewer side-effects — thus enhancing our patients’ quality of life.
The TrueBeam® Linear Accelerator is faster, safer and more powerful than the previous machine it replaced. It destroys cancer by precisely focusing high-energy rays on cancer cells while preserving healthy tissues bordering the tumor. This advanced radiotherapy technology allows our caregivers to treat more adult and pediatric patients, help achieve better treatment results, and improve each patient’s experience.
St. Joseph Hospital is grateful for the support received from individual, corporate and foundation donors who helped make this state-of-the-art therapy available to our community.
