Helen Caloggero Women’s and Family Center set to open early 2024

Providence St. Joseph Hospital is ushering in a new era of patient-centered excellence for women with the opening of the Helen Caloggero Women’s and Family Center early next year. Made possible by the unwavering support of our generous donor community, the new center serves as a hub to access a wide array of women’s health services. The foundation set an ambitious fundraising goal to help bring the project to fruition. A major gift from Marsha Moeller in honor of her late mother, Helen Caloggero, provided significant support and the new building is a lasting tribute to her legacy. The family will be forever entwined with the Providence St. Joseph promise to care for our dear neighbors.

Uniting comprehensive women’s services under one roof

Nestled at the corner of Main Street and Stewart Drive, adjacent to the hospital, the four-story, 137,000-square-foot facility is a testament to what can be accomplished when a community comes together for a shared purpose.

The Helen Caloggero Women’s and Family Center will streamline and enhance the patient experience and provide a holistic approach to women’s health. The wide array of diagnostic, preventive and therapeutic services is tailored to women of all ages and includes:

Breast program

The breast program provides advanced whole-person care, including screening, diagnostics, advanced treatment options and post-treatment support for women with breast cancer and breast-related concerns. Our multidisciplinary care team works with our patients to design individualized care plans, which may include:

• Chemotherapy
• Clinical trials
• Hormone therapy
• Immunotherapy
• Molecular target therapy

The Center for Pelvic Health

The center will include an expanded area dedicated to serving women struggling with pelvic floor disorders. Treatments include innovative therapies, dietary modification, physical therapy, medication, and, if necessary, surgical interventions to enhance quality of life.

Women’s Heart Center

The Women’s Heart Center focuses on the unique cardiovascular needs of women, offering leading-edge treatments and preventive care.

Bariatric program

For individuals seeking life-changing solutions for obesity, the bariatric program is a lifeline. A dedicated team of specialists will guide patients through their weight loss journey with compassion and expertise.

The center will feature mammography and imaging services, a full-service pharmacy, a Blue Bowl Superfoods restaurant, a Stork Stop maternity boutique, a grab-and-go cafe, and several medical offices.

Consolidating and enhancing our award-winning mother-baby services

The Helen Caloggero Women’s and Family Center will be home to our award-winning maternity services and support during pregnancy, childbirth and post-delivery. It will bring together mother-baby services, currently spread over various locations around the hospital, to one central location.

In addition, it will include a natural birth center, where women can receive support and individualized care in a home-like setting. The birth center provides new options for women and their partners to have a natural labor and birth, supported by labor doulas and midwives within the safety of the hospital campus.

Prenatal care and follow-up appointments can be completed at the adjacent Midwife Clinic, another convenient service for new families looking for a one-stop experience. Our wide range of comprehensive outpatient and inpatient services includes:

• Concierge service that helps mothers take care of tasks before and after birth
• Level III NICU that offers state-of-the-art care to critically ill newborns
• Pelvic floor rehabilitation to eliminate symptoms patients may experience after delivery.
• Educational classes from prenatal health to breastfeeding basics and everything in between
