Soirée 2023
Uniting for innovation
The stellar event, hosted at [AV] Irvine on October 14, brought together more than 400 loyal supporters, showcasing the power of philanthropy and community as it raised over $1.4 million in support of advancing patient care.
Two of the evening’s highlights were the remarkable live performances by The Shout! House with their dueling piano show and after-party entertainment by The Red Hot Band, who got guests up on their feet and dancing into the night. With nonstop entertainment, both bands captivated our audience, creating an electrifying atmosphere of a nonstop party.
“We are ecstatic to have our supporters together for a fun-filled night of what it means to truly be part of a unified community,” says Anita Gregory, M.D. and Sami Hamamji, M.D., event co-chairs. “Thank you to all of the sponsors and supporters who contributed to the success of Soirée. Our generous sponsors and guests are the true champions of this night.”
Spirit of St. Joseph Award
With many memorable moments, the heart of the evening was the presentation of the Spirit of St. Joseph Award. This honor has been bestowed upon those who exemplify unwavering dedication and philanthropic commitment to Providence St. Joseph’s Mission — a longtime tradition of the foundation since 1998.
This year we proudly honored Pat Powers for his compassion for the community. After his wife Jacqueline passed at 37 years old, Pat established Jacqui’s Fund, which supports patients by funding items typically not covered by health insurance or other benefits. Since 2006, Jacqui’s Fund has been integral in providing support for hundreds of cancer patients. Frequently these patients send notes of gratitude to the hospital thanking Pat for easing their cancer journey.
“I’m just grateful that we’ve been able to help people in whatever way possible,” Pat says. “It’s a nice way to keep Jacqui within our hearts.”
Transforming care together
Soirée was an evening where elegance met purpose. At the end of the night, there was a deep sense of fulfillment as our community became even more bonded with our dear neighbors. Thanks to our premier sponsors, Soirée was a beautiful tribute to the enduring legacy of our Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange— and we look forward to celebrating many more years together.
